One of the most important women of the Bible is the mother of Jesus, Mary. She is one of the most influential women that ever lived. She was hand picked by God to be the earthly mother of his Son, Jesus. What a privilege! What a tremendous responsibility! Can you imagine knowing the child they were carrying and giving birth was the Son God, the Son of God, the Creator of everything?
She was just a boy when he was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Being a single mother in those days was punished with the stoning. Imagine, Joseph, his bethrothed's reaction upon learning he was going to have a baby and had not even married yet. He must have loved much to hear the words that God spoke to him and tell him to marry her, she was chosen to carry this child from him.
Joseph was an inspiring model for Jesus as a father. He took responsibility without question. Jesus taught that Mary with Joseph the things parents teach their children. She taught him to read, eat, he even diapers! What a blessing!
Another woman in the Bible model was Mary and her sister Magdalina Marta. Mary Magdalina had the privilege of washing Jesus' feet with her hair and shed an alabaster jar of expensive perfume on them. What image of humility. She was ridiculed for his actions but was blessed by Jesus.
So many women in the scriptures that have played a vital role in our lives as women. Some gave us guidelines to follow and others do not. None were perfect as today. Eva began the battle of wills in all mankind, both men and women, but Adam played a important role in the beginning of what we are still facing today. This is SIN. Disobedience to the Word of God. Doing things our way.
We must return to the truths of the Bible and start living like we were ordered at the beginning of our time. This will not be long before Jesus returns to take us to heaven. Walk a narrow way, as Christians, believers in Jesus and those who believe not walk a wide road. Few walk the narrow way and many walk the wide path. Do not follow the crowd on the wide road. Please take the narrow path today. All you need do is admit you're a sinner, that Jesus died for you, admit you're a sinner, and Jesus need to save and ask to come into your heart and save you.
That's it! As simple as A, B, C. Get on your knees today and ask Jesus that before he returns to save His children and those left behind. God bless you.
Jesus was sent to Earth to die. He did it willingly. He loves You and Me so much that He stretched out His arms on an old rugged cross to be an atonement for our sin. He wants you to join Him in the Family of God. You can become one of His children today.
Get out your Bible and read through the Book of John. It is unfolded history that is just as relevant today as it was back 2000 years ago. When you read through John, go to the Book of Revelation and see what is to come and what will happen after Jesus comes back for His children. Will you be left here?
