After retiring from many people move to a smaller apartment, condo or town house. Simple as it seems, much of the reduction required planning and time. Many retirement communities have long waiting lists and if you are thinking of the reduction must begin now.

1. Put your name on the list. You may have to wait 10 years to enter the retreat they have chosen, so you need to sign now. You may also have to pay a deposit, shall be returned if they do not move there.

2. Ask or floor plans. Having a floor plan will help you see what furniture will fit and what not. It is possible that want to get rid of large items and replace them now smaller.

3. Place the documents in a safe place. You do not need to keep every check you wrote. However, it is necessary to maintain recent bank statements, financial transactions, and legal documents (power of attorney, wills, titles cars, etc..) Store these in a safe deposit box if you have not already done so.

4. Sort clothes. His place of another can not have the storage space as its present, so it is advisable to order the clothes regularly. If you have not used in a year you may not need. Done extra clothes to charity or sold stir the church.

5. De-clutter the kitchen. This may be so slow that you may have to do this in stages. Discard spices that are more than a year old. Giving equipment extra plates, cutlery, pots and storage containers.

6. Cull magazines and books. This is also a long time and may have to do this in stages. Keep his beloved books and donate the rest to the public library. Nursing homes will be happy to take your extra magazines.

7. Check table and lamps standing. Through the wires of the lamp years may have become frayed and reliable outlets. Deciding that the lights like most and repair if necessary. Give others away.

8. Clean the garage. The garage is often a dumping place for extras such as clay pots, garden tools, and seasonal items. Having a clean garage you'll feel better. Give extra elements to neighbors or charities.

9. Give things your family. You only need space for selected items in your place then. Ask your children and grandchildren to choose the relics and / or furniture they want. Giving away these things now will pleasure and reduce moving costs.

10. Keep your home market ready. The only thing I do is not fall behind on home repairs. Paint walls, fill the cracks, and update or renovate your kitchen and bathroom (s). Its market-ready house should sell quickly when the time comes. Then you can focus to make their new place a gem.
