What are some good Christians Read Books story aloud for ages 3-8?
Looking for something good to read aloud the books he could be good to put on tape for my granddaughter would have to be picture books, children's Bibles or no prayer books, etc. I'm thinking of children as the Max Lucado's Hermie books or books, but since I am a grandmother, I'm not real familiar with what is out there. I am a former public school teacher, and I do not want "I can read books, but storybooks read aloud if you used some of them with children of these ages. I'd like to know about any good authors as Max Lucado in this field or a series of books as Hermie, Thanks in advance. Hope I explain myself:) Oh yes, I am a lover of Veggie Tales, I love your DVD's and sing songs that are one I know everything:) forgot to mention that;) Read aloud, I meant to picture story books, things to reach boys and ages 2-4.
Best of all children's books by a Christian author: The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis. And please, if you're going to see the movie, read the book too! These books are very visual language – promoting young people's imagination – and are suitable for primary school, even kindergarten children (Maybe a little smaller doses.) Best of all, do not offer easy answers and solutions comedy tied with a scripture reference, and adults can enjoy them. These books reinforce the life and deeds of dedication to God, but also to encourage readers / listeners to think for themselves, to digest the meaning history. We do a disservice to children to think that only they can understand the books Barney-esque children simply because they are young. Leading to go ahead and up!
